We from the Sauerland cherish our homeland, traditions and nature. New ideas and the zeitgeist are positive challenges to us. Our service is cordial and authentic. We take our mandate seriously and shape it in the interest of our guests. Share your experiences and special moments with us.
„Everything was very well, very nice team, have felt very much at home. Great location.”, HRS
Antonius Knippschild and his team cook authentic dishes. They mainly cook with regional products - game from the surrounding hunting grounds, water from the source in the cherry garden. The service has open eyes and ears and is happy to be there for you, in our homely restaurant and parlours, for breakfast or at teatime in the garden, or doing the house-keeping in hour hotel room.
The Knippschild family is living in this convivial house since 1746. Since many generations, it is a place with tradition. In former times, people came mainly for a summer-stay, today our guests are those seeking quietness or being in tune with nature, many of them returning regularly. For many guests, the Waldhaus is becoming a popular destination up on the hill.
